Direct Buy sells home appliances and furnishings. I've seen the infomercials and it looked interesting. But like most infomercials I was looking for a catch. So I searched online to see if someone or a group of people had done business with Direct Buy before. I came across a few sites with other's personal experiences and reviews.
At this
link has other consumers who claimed they went to the showroom and where put to sales people who tried to sell them $5,000+ memberships to Direct Buy and was given the option that they had to make a decision immediately and would not have a chance to think about it and come back. There was also mentions of people pretending to be customers who lurk around the showroom. Some have also reported a positive experience, but indicated you should be shopping for a huge remodel job to take advantage of their membership prices.
Seem a bit weird to me, if something was that great I think the public would just flock to it. I know a lot of people with Costco memberships, I see no infomercials or commercials for that matter for Costco. I've never seen any sale people try to hard sell me a Costco membership, yet they have people flock to it. Makes you think, doesn't it.
